I heard about this the other day, and it bummed me out… Not just because they have Good food, and Great coffee, but the impact the loss will have on the area, this loss represents a 10% loss in dining establishments for the county.

This December, we celebrate 10 years in business here in Victoria. As we reflect on the past 10 years, we are appreciative of the many loyal customers and amazing staff we’ve had during those years. Many of y’all have watched our kids & business grow. We’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to have gotten a small start on 8th & Main then to our current location on Main St. In 2007, Uptown brought wifi, some great music, and a local gathering place to Main St. and also, with that, we became landlords. In 2011, we were able to open a second location in Amelia. Finally, in 2014, we opened where we dreamed it all up in Farmville. Since then, we have seen continued growth in business there. We have been truly blessed and we thank God for His leadings and blessings as we follow Him by faith.
As with all things in life, there is a season. We have been in the season of raising children while finding and developing their passions. We are seeing how fast they are growing up before our eyes. Also in this season, the demands of the Farmville location have kept us busy. With that being said, we have decided to end this season of Uptown in the town of Victoria. This wasn’t an easy decision for us as we will truly miss having a storefront and seeing y’all regularly in Victoria. We will be focusing on family and the Uptown location in Farmville while continuing to be landlords in Victoria, along with other family obligations. We are extremely thankful to all present and former employees. We’ve had some of the best and couldn’t have done it without them. Thank you to all our customers as we appreciate your loyalty and patronage over the years. We’ve met some great people through the years and we are forever grateful. Also, thank you to our parents who have always been our number one fans! A special thanks to Jason’s dad, Ronald Mattox, who has done everything from running the register when we first got started, to being a maintenance man, food runner, delivery person and a go-to person for just about anything. We couldn’t have done it without him.
Also, all current electronic gift/reward cards don’t expire and can be used over at the Farmville location. We hope y’all will visit us often when you’re around the Farmville area. We hope you will come see us one last time or two at this location as we wind it down with our last day on December 22nd. We love each of you and hope to see you soon.
